Bruno Walpoth presents two busts of youthful figures from which irradiate tranquil intimacy and seriousness. Their heads slightly lowered, the figures appear immersed in their own thoughts and detached from reality, in possession of knowledge that prevents them from entering into direct contact with the outside world. Walpoth’s sculptures are neither portraits nor representations of human intimacy, but in all their classical beauty they manage to explain something we are all familiar with.
