Galleria Doris Ghetta
Contemporary art and cultural heritage are key elements in building a solid and sustainable network of relationships between community and territory and in contributing to a more aware world.
Mission
Galleria Doris Ghetta is located amidst the stunning landscapes of Val Gardena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in 2014, the gallery serves as a hub for contemporary expression, demonstrating a strong commitment to preserving cultural heritage while advancing with a clear vision. With Eleonora Castagna as a partner and a recent expansion to Milan, the gallery embarked on a new chapter in 2022, marking a momentous leap forward in its journey.
Its core principle explores new humanism through introspective reflections on reconnecting with nature. The program focuses on the symbiotic relationship between communities and landscapes, the balance in habitats, and an evolving imaginary that intertwines art, culture, and the human narrative. The gallery acts as a conduit for artists, nurturing diverse expressions and fostering a deeper understanding of humanity's place in the natural world.
The project space, Garasc, further supports emerging artists, encouraging experimentation and the creation of site-specific works that seamlessly integrate with the gallery's evolving ecosystem. Through initiatives like the Biennale Gherdëina, founded by Doris Ghetta in 2008, Gherdëina/Val Gardena emerges as a space where artists and individuals quietly commune with nature and culture.
The overarching vision is to inspire a sustainable future through the transformative influence of art, embodying a more understated yet impactful approach to fostering harmony between humanity and the natural world.
