Aron Demetz (nato in Val Gardena nel 1972) è uno scultore italiano che vive e lavora in Val Gardena, Alto Adige.
Per l’artista il processo di realizzazione acquisisce la stessa importanza e a volte supera persino quella dell’opera d’arte. Utilizza tecniche tradizionali di intaglio del legno ma anche un’ ampia varietà di altri processi artistici, che fanno dialogare i fenomeni inscindibili della scultura nella sua essenza, ovvero gravità, peso e forma. I lavori che ne risultano hanno una forte presenza fisica, che coinvolge profondamente lo spettatore sul piano psicologico e la preoccupazione per il rapporto dell‘umanità con la natura.

Für den Künstler ist der Enstehungsprozess genauso wenn nicht manchmal wichtiger als das Kunstwerk selbst. Mit traditionellen Holzschnitztechniken und einer Vielzahl an künstlerischen Prozessen schafft er einen Dialog zwischen den untrennbaren Phänomenen, die das Wesen der Skulptur ausmachen - also Schwerkraft, Gewichtund Forma.Die daraus enstehenden Arbeiten haben eine starke physische Präsenz, die den Betrachter auf psychologischer Ebene tief in ihren Bann zieht und sich mit dem Verhältnis des Menschen zur Natur auseinandersetzen.

For the artist, the process of creation is equally if not sometimes more important than the artwork itself. He uses traditional woodcarving techniques and a variety of artistic processes to create a dialogue between the inseparable phenomena that constitute the essence of sculpture - gravity, weight, and form. The resulting works have a strong physical presence that deeply engages the viewer on a psychological level and convey his exploration of man’s relationship with nature.
