ROBERT PAN
Robert Pan (born 1969, Bolzano, Italy) produces his works through a lengthy process involving the superimposition of numerous layers of resin. He uses physical and chemical processes of corrosion with acids, the application of copper plating and oxidation of iron, and other methods still to obtain particular hues. Resin, a material Pan has been working with for many years, serves the function of adding nobility to gesture and presence in search of vibrant power. Though remaining formally abstract, they remind us of macro- and micro-natural shapes, celestial landscapes or geological structures, thus leaving uncertainty of perception and appearance in the viewer. His colourful objects are always the results of an experimental production process that generates in an alchemy of colour.

Robert Pan (nato a Bolzano nel 1969) è un artista italiano le cui opere sono il risultato di un lungo processo fatto di sovrapposizioni di innumerevoli strati di resina. Attraverso processi fisici e chimici di corrosione con acidi, applicazioni con lastre di rame, ossidazioni del ferro e altre tecniche di lavorazione, ricerca particolari tonalità. La resina, materiale che Pan lavora da molti anni, è funzionale alla vocazione di nobilitare la gestualità e la presenza alla ricerca di una forza vibrante. Pur parlando un linguaggio formale astratto, essi ci ricordano le micro- e macro-strutture della natura, paesaggi celesti o conformazioni geologiche – e lasciano spazio all’immaginazione. I suoi oggetti colorati sono sempre il risultato di un processo di produzione sperimentale che si genera in un'alchimia del colore.

Die Arbeiten von Robert Pan (geboren 1969 in Bozen, Südtirol) werden in einem langwierigen Arbeitsprozess hergestellt, bei dem unzählige Harzschichten übereinander geschichtet werden. Durch physische und chemische Korrosionsprozesse mit Säuren, Auftragungen von Kupferblechen, Oxidierung von Eisen und anderen Methoden kommt es zu einer ganz besonderen Farbgebung und einem außerordentlichen Glanz. Seine farbenprächtigen Objekte sind das Ergebnis eines experimentellen Herstellungsverfahrens. Obwohl sie eine abstrakte Formensprache sprechen, erinnern sie uns an die Mikro- und Makrostrukturen in der Natur, an himmlische Landschaften oder geologische Gebilde – und sie lassen Platz für Phantasie.
