Drawing on the atmosphere of fairy tales and fables, comic books, and notions of the grotesque body, Pietro Moretti’s work engages with the ambivalence of emotions in intimate relations, complexities of masculinities and of belonging, and the porosity between psychological and physical realities. Weaving narratives between the everyday and the fantastical working mainly in watercolour and oil paint, his last works reflect on how the in-expressed remerges through the body revealing lies, pains, frailties and the contradictions of desire..
