PETER SENONER
Peter Senoner (born 1970, Bolzano, Italy) lives and works in Chiusa, South Tyrol. The figurative subjects of his drawings and large-sized sculptures are highly generic images, almost doll-like figures, that act as prototypes, involved in no psychological exploration of states of mind but hinging entirely on the depiction of outward appearances. The leitmotiv of his variable arrangements of figures is the presence of a doubling with a plastic casting or a drawing or in the form of a digital animation. In Senoner’s doubling resides a desire to hybridise the medium, switching from the imaginary to the fictitious, to a virtual aggregate state.

Peter Senoner (nato a Bolzano nel 1970) vive e lavora a Chiusa, Alto Adige. I soggetti figurativi dei suoi disegni e sculture di grandi dimensioni sono immagini molto generiche, quasi delle bambole. Le figure di Senoner fungono da prototipi in quanto non sono coinvolte in un'esplorazione psicologica degli stati d'animo, bensì sono interamente imperniate sulla rappresentazione delle apparenze esteriori. Il leitmotiv della sua variabile disposizione delle figure è la presenza del doppio: rappresentato attraverso il disegno, la fusione di plastica o in forma di animazione digitale. Nel doppio di Senoner risiede il desiderio di ibridare il mezzo, passando dall'immaginario al fittizio, ad uno stato aggregato virtuale.

Peter Senoner (geboren 1970 in Bozen, Italien) lebt und arbeitet in Klausen, Südtirol. Die figurativen Motive seiner Zeichnungen und großformatigen Skulpturen sind sehr allgemeine Bilder, fast puppenartige Figuren, die als Prototypen dienen denn sie sind an keiner psychologischen Erforschung von Geisteszuständen beteiligt, sondern orientieren sich ausschließlich an der Darstellung von äußeren Erscheinungen. Leitmotiv seiner variablen Figurenanordnung ist die Verdoppelung: ob mit einem Plastikguss, Zeichnung oder in Form einer digitalen Animation. In Senoners Verdoppelung liegt der Wunsch, das Medium zu hybridisieren und vom Imaginären zum Fiktiven in einen virtuellen Aggregatzustand zu wechseln.
