Galleria Doris Ghetta is proud to present Write My Poem Across the Sky, the first solo exhibition by GDG Prize 2024 winner Shivangi Kalra (*1998, New Delhi, India).

This exhibition marks a significant moment in Kalra’s artistic journey, offering a profound exploration of memory, identity, and the complex interplay between personal and collective narratives. Through her evocative and deeply introspective works, Kalra invites viewers into spaces where nostalgia meets critique, and silence meets expression.

Kalra’s artistic practice is shaped by the dichotomies of her upbringing in the frenetic, ever-expanding city of New Delhi. Growing up amidst the overwhelm of frequent social gatherings, she was drawn to the contradictions that defined these spaces. Beneath the glittering surface of privilege lay unspoken tensions, unheard voices, and moments of quiet alienation.

Her work distills these experiences into visual forms, capturing not only the allure of these scenes but also the unease that lingers beneath. Through paintings, installations, and textual fragments, Kalra transforms her observations into layered reflections that balance beauty and discomfort.
