In her practice, Ingrid Hora explores the themes of collective effort and togetherness and invites the viewers to contemplate the potential of civic engagement, trust, and collaboration, encouraging us to celebrate the beauty and possibilities of working together towards a shared goal.

The title Raccolta presents several layers of reading and interpretation. The harvest is historically thought of as a collective moment. It is the when a community comes together for several days and engages in a single effort to determine its future; the agricultural, of course, but this understanding can be expanded to politics, social movements and celebrations, big and small. Ingrid Hora's works urge us to draw strength from our shared experiences and lift one another up, even in the face of adversity. Her art serves as a reminder that we are all connected, and that togetherness can accomplish great things.

After her first solo show Bien at Galleria Doris Ghetta in 2019 Hora is back in Ortisei with a solo show that will present a selection of works, including pieces derived from her presentation at MUSEION in Bolzano for the group exhibition Kingdom of the Ill. Alongside the installation of Alubond prints from the work Collective Effort, visitors will encounter a variety of sculptures and drawings that offer a more intimate look at the artist's practice and act in miniature to expand, comment and highlight the larger themes in Hora’s work. The artist plays on the meaning of constraint and demonstrates her willingness to collaborate and trust in the creative process, resulting in pieces that are greater than the sum of their parts. Her art encourages us to consider our communities, and challenges us to think of new ways to create a more inclusive and compassionate world.

An exclusive video interview produced by the gallery and realised by Ben&Julia Studio will accompany the exhibition.
